In order to wisely serve the people of St. Rita Parish, the pastoral leadership team needs the support of many. As advisory councils, the Pastoral Council and Finance Council seek to offer recommendations and suggestions for the growth of the faith life at St. Rita Parish.
As a key advisory body, the Pastoral Council is another point of connection between the pastoral leadership team and the parish they minister with. Members serve staggered terms, being both elected by the congregation and appointed by the pastor.
From the St. Rita Pastoral Council Constitution:
“The purpose of the Council shall be:
a. to assure the transmission of the Deposit of Faith necessary to our salvation;
b. to work together in the building up of the Body of Christ in this parochial community;
c. to provide more comprehensive channels of communication between clergy, religious, laity, the Christian and secular communities;
d. to further apostolic formation of ourselves and the parish we serve;
e. to provide greater effectiveness and purposefulness as this parish grows in mission and temporalities, this through the ongoing practice of participatory pastoral planning.”

More than just reviewing the amount of the weekly collection, the Finance Council is established to help the pastoral leadership team guide St. Rita Parish practically and responsibly. The monies entrusted with the parish form a sacred stewardship bond within the parish, as the Finance Council looks to the future in order to maintain St. Rita on good financial footing. Parish areas of growth -- including but not limited to building and maintenance issues -- are subjects of meetings.
Finance Council members serve at the invitation of the pastor, being selected due to a love for St. Rita Parish and a professional competency. Please contact a member with a question on the fiscal direction of the parish.
